Kalashnikov Lampstand

Russian AK-47

A small arm re-purposed as a light weapon!

Seven decades after it was originally designed by Mikhail Kalashnikov for the Soviet Army in 1947, the AK-47 remains the most ubiquitous automatic assault rifle in the world. This 1967 wooden stock version will stop you in your tracks for a different reason, because we’ve turned it into an illuminating conversation piece.

The rifle is bracket-fitted to a bespoke lampstand, which is mounted onto a wooden plinth finished in a 2-pack clear lacquer. To top and tail the piece, the base bears a polished bullet, and the lampshade is made from an original 1970 ammunition box.
