Propeller Designs
Creations with an edge
A propeller blade is not only an ingenious piece of engineering but also a thing of beauty. We love to create edgy pieces of decorative art to celebrate this iconic aircraft component. From single blade items such as the Time Zone Clock and the Weather Station to full assembly pieces like the McCauley Propeller Sculpture, we give full flight to our imagination and craftsmanship to create inspired installations. Painting and polishing are of the highest quality and attention to detail is meticulous.
We can customise our creations to suit specific requirements such as corporate logos, engraving or propeller tip colours. Feel free to talk ideas over with us. Contact Nick | Instagram | Pinterest | LinkedIn
When the Wright Brothers realised that a propeller for an aircraft needed to be of a very different design to a marine propeller, the aviation industry quite literally took off. In the early 1900’s they pioneered the twisted aerofoil shape of modern aircraft propeller blades to produce forward thrust. From those first fixed-pitch propellers made of wood, technical advances such as variable-pitch props and aluminium and composite materials have increased efficiency, but the essential shape and concept remain the same over hundreds of years on.
